History
Our story
Our story starts in the heart of the Dolomits, more precisely on the slopes of Alta Badia where Pio Canins starts his journey as a ski instructor then turned Italian national ski instructor. There on his beloved slopes, he starts promoting the San Marco ski boots. "Since I wasn't doing too bad," Pio says jokingly, he decides to work as an agent for San Marco full time. Not much time later, Ziener joins forces with him, a brand that to this day is part of our family. And so, in 1983 Basic Group Srl was founded. Today, Basic group is one of the leading distributors of premium sports and lifestyle brands in Italy.

Alta Badia Sport - Summer and Winter
An unforgettable holiday in the Dolomites with the whole family or with your best friends – for sports enthusiasts, there’s nothing better. You don’t need to bring your own equipment, as you can conveniently rent it at our Alta Badia Shop Rentals. Our two ski and bike rental locations are in La Villa and St. Kassian in the Gadertal Valley. Here, we offer both new and used skis, bikes, and high-quality sportswear for sale. Your own skis and boards will receive the perfect edge sharpening and professional ski service. In summer, a professional bike mechanic will also be available!
